Hello all

I don't suppose anyone has managed a ride on either one of those bikes or owns either one? I'm going to try and get a test ride on them when I get back from work in a week or so but thought I'd throw a post up on here too.

Any experiences would be great as I know there are some volare and acciaio owners on here.

Thanks
Ben

Another forum member is close to completing a build on a Super Acciaio. Might be worth contacting him to see if he has any comments on the ride quality etc.

  • Thanks arlowood. I hadn't considered the super Accaiaio but it seems the Volare falls slap bang in the middle price wise. £200 quid either side and you have the condors. I think my heart is already set on one of them, but need to ride both just incase.

Get a Ritchey Road Logic 2.0 instead. Way lighter than both and an incredibly solid and racy ride.

  • Thanks Grill for throwing a spanner in the works!! Right on budget and have also found for a mere 749 notes in a sale on the web somewhere.

How do you find yours? I don't race or anything, I just ride. Some days for 50+ miles, some days for 10 miles round the block. I have a supersix at the moment but I quite fancy something a bit more special to me, hence the frames listed.

I can build something to my spec. All I know is that the groupset will be 105 (cheap enough to replace when worn out as this will be my only bike) or Ultegra (not so cheap to replace when worn, but I love it) and the wheels will by my ksyrium SLR's, with Fizik finishing kit. Any info on how you find your Ritchey would be great as to be honest I hadn't even heard of it before you mentioned it!

  • Is the ritchey lighter? Evans have it as 1750g, my acciaio is the same and the super is 1650

  • Thanks Bender. Yours is a bit of inspiration I must say.

  • That is stunning Matty. Well I think I know where my heart lies. When I get back from work in a week or so I'll be heading to London for a test ride if possible.

Thanks for all the input guys.

The Super Acciaio is listed at 1800g in a 52 and the Acciaio is 1800g in a 55. The Ritchey fork is also lighter.

  • So way lighter is, what, 100 grammes?

The listings wrong for the super though

  • I'm not too fussed about 100g here or there as I am 6ft and 16 stone. I think for me anyone of the frames listed - from a purely web based looking point of view - would suit and look great. From reading this forum it seems that the service from Condor is a cut above anywhere else. So following my heart, that will be my first stop for a test ride. If I find it not my liking, then if possible I'll try and ride a Volare 853 and a Ritchey.

Once again thanks for the input guys.

Give or take. In my world 100 grams is a lot.

They are, and Jason does a great job tailoring the frame to your specification. However, I have to say there is something about the Condor paint job that I just like...alot. But then my paint job is one of a kind :P
