I have a 3×9 shimano drivtrain. I am wanting to change to a 2×9 with a bashguard. What would be the best chainring sizes? And could you please leave links for good chainrings and bashguards. Thanks

Just take the big ring off, fit a bash if you want and see how you do.
Then decide to change rings if you need to.
I'm fine with 22/32.I don't do smileys.

Did this and not looked back, although I chose to incorporate a 36t chainring and fitted an slx double front mech as it has the required sweep to keep close to both chainrings. Obviously you can retain the current front mech on a 32t outer ring. Highly recommended !0

I asked this question recently too
I run a 22/32/44 set up x 10 SRAM on rear
I wanted to remove the big ring mostly for saftey and I never use it
Got some good advise on here about the 32 tooth ring so thinking about moving it up two or four teeth on the middle and then + 2 middle ring...
However now I am contemplating loosing the granny gear al together and running a 34 tooth only ....
I hope to do this but not sure i could survive without it ... Food for thought0
