Hi guys,
Been a while since I've posted on here.
I have a Carrera Fury and tend to ride mostly along footpaths/canal trails with the occasional XC route mixed in. I'm thinking of a set of hybrid tires that will allow me to ride faster on roads yet also be able to handle some of the muddier stuff when needed. My rims are Sun Rims Single Track and tires 26 x 2.35...
I'd appreciate your feedback and if you could post links to your recommendation, even better!

I'd be going for a variant of the marathon plus & I'd go for puncture protection with this range because it works so well. Spa cycles have a good range of appropriate tyres at good prices but also see:

As an alternative there's this: http://www.merlincycles.com/schwalbe-sa ... 52958.html'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0 -
Bargain http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-Schwalbe- ... 0858168948 also available in 1.50

The city jets snowster recommended would be good even on tow paths, but since you say you would do a bit of XC and muddier stuff on them, then they arent such a good bet.
If you want a bit of bite for the offroad stuff, then the following could be good for you.
Kenda Small Block 8:

For some proper XC use I'd suggest a Schwalbe Smart SamCurrently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

If you do go down the fast summer MTB tyre route, then these are the fastest off road tyres that I've used, light & a good price for a pair: http://www.merlincycles.com/pair-panara ... 53201.html You could have one of these up front and a true semi slick on the back They say 2.3 but come up more like a 2.1 or 2.2.'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0
