26 wheel mtb bike to hybrid bike

can i convert my 26 wheel hard tail to a 700 wheel hybrid bike i can put road wheel in rear end i know i have change to rigid fork :?

    If it is disc brake, yes, if rim braked, no as you'll have no way of putting pad to the new rim location.

    Why not just build a 26" hybrid on slicks (see my avatar)
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
