New Crankset

Looking for a replacement 9 speed double for a CX, would prefer external BB and the best I've been able to come up with, is this offering from CRC. Will it even fit with a 68 BB?

It would need a new front mech but the shifter would be fine, as it's already a triple

Rose is usually good for cranksets.

Yes, funnily enough it will fit a 68mm front

Thats a triple not a double, what are you replacing?

yes I know but I can go with either; if I go with a triple then I'll need a new front mech, as it's currently a double, whereas the shifter is a triple

how can the shells be 68/73, surely they're either one or the other?

Makes no difference for the chainrings, I think. Maybe they are slightly narrower. I'm using the Tiagra one with a 9-speed set up and it works.

The ring spacing is very slightly smaller on a 10, but they work fine on a 9 speed.

thanks, now just got to decide whether to keep the 46/36 ratios or move to a 50/34

edit; went for a straight swap FSA CX for shimano CX; cost of CX (105) + ultegra BB was still less than 105 compact.
