Rotor BSA 30 Conversion Bottom Bracket would do the job if you can find one.

No, you cannot fit a BB30 chainset to an BS threaded BB, there's simply no room for the bearings. Crank spindle is 30mm, ID of BB shell is 36mm - 3mm bearings? I don't think so. Rotor BSA 30 only works because Rotor cranks has extended spindle to allow bearing to sit outboard. There have been 2 recent threads on this - answer is always the same.

I stand corrected! Makes sense that it would only work with an extended spindle.

ok yes i was refering to the rotor cuos available, but thanks for advice it wont work cheers
  • I looked at this and yes you can - as PROSS says you can fit a 30mm spindled crankset to a regular Italian or English 68mm threaded shell so long as you have the special outboard bearing and a longer 30mm spindle.

Basically the only major company I know that offers this is Rotor. Check out: http://www.rotoruk.co.uk/bsa30.html for the bearings. here for the crank: http://www.rotoruk.co.uk/3dplus.html

    Compatability here: http://www.rotoruk.co.uk/pdfs/RotorUk_S ... iation.pdf

A bit of a palaver? Yes. Big dosh? Yes. Worth it? What it's worth to you, only you know... My minsteress of finance told me it would not pass the budgetary debate in the house. And she was right. A nice, used 7900 crank can be had for little over £100...
