Hi all.
After a 4 year break from biking, and stupidly selling all my gear, I've got the bug to get out back on the trails.
Been looking at a few bikes and there a couple that are drawing my interest.
Got a decent budget luckily and the Norco Sight 7.1 alloy and Trek Remedy 8 are the ones that interest me the most. Both 2014 models on 650b's.
Firstly the Norco. Poor spec I think. But does the frame warrant it as a good base for upgrades. Wheels, chain set, brakes. Etc.
And the Trek. Better spec. More money. But a reverb seat post and it's ideal.
Any views on these 2014 bikes appreciated. Or even any other suggestions.
Thanks

Not sure about that. Frame looks a bit ugly.0

The 650b norco got a pretty bad review in a recent mbr test, and the remedy's review was only OK.the old Norco sight (26") got 10/10 though, and will probably be discounted by noW and has better spec0

Yeah. I read the review, which prompted my questions here really. From what I remember there main issues were with component spec. Hence my question to use the frame as a base for upgrades.
The older sight is def drawing my attention. But means going second hand. Which essentially I've no problem with. But would like a sit on one for a feel for size.0 -

who you calling dwarf?
All Welsh type people are wizened dwarfs who work down mines, or shepherds, which is worse.
Unless they are Catherine Zeta Jones.I don't do smileys.

Or Catherine Jenkins....
Why do so many Welsh women bleach their hair blonde?
So they look more like sheep!
Buying a bike planning to upgrade is daft, that's buying the bits twice, buy once, buy right!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
