Hi all,

I have signed up for a charity 25 mile ride on 23rd March, I currently ride to and from work which is 2 miles each way and on the weekend usually do about 10 miles.

Is there any extra training should I look at doing apart from increasing my weekend ride mileage?

    Increase your weekday mileage too! Barely worth riding 2 miles, start taking the long route in, or home, or both.
  • I'm thinking of doing that, the route I'm thinking will only double the ride though. Is that going to be worth it? Although I can play about with routes on the way home now that my speed is increasing.

    Anything will help.

    You've only just got over a month, which isn't really long enough to make any huge gains. If you can ride 10 miles at the moment you'll be absolutely fine, just get used to it.

    It's only 3 hours at a very very modest pace.
  • Thanks very much, I am definitely going to increase my weekend ride as I want to try and get it sub 2hrs30 so no pain no gain.
