WTF-reehub?

Just received a battered rear wheel that has a working freehub on it, and i went managed to get the axle and freehub off in no time at all in the usual way with a 10mm (i think it was) allen key. Straight in, turn, pull the lot off.
Then i got round to removing my ruined freewheel off of my own rear wheel so i can get the new one on. I removed the axle and everything, slotted the allen key in and nothing. After a quick cleaning i saw that the fitting for the bolt that holds the freehub on was not infact an allen key fitting. It looks like a splined type of fitting. It looks as if it is meant to take the same sort fitting that a cassette lockring would take, but obviously smaller.
I also tried inserting the allen key from the non freehub side through the hub as i read before i started that some freehubs come off like that, but nothing still.
Does anyone know what kind of fitting this is? I couldnt find out what it was through Sheldon Brown and i am quite confused.

Start pulling the hub completely apart, but if the tool required is different then it's unlikely to work.
What hubs???0 -
The hubs are unbranded...0

Stop there. The freehubs will not be interchangeable.
The "new" body bolt will be 11mm and will undo from the inside."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Whatever. They are not compatible."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

As Nicklouse said, more than likely not compatible.
But if you do want to have a play, you may find that it is a torx bolt.0 -
Having difficulties getting this barstard thing off my wheel!
I have identified that the fitting for it is an allen key and is inserted through the hub.
12, 10, 8 and 9 mm allen keys dont fit on it. I dont have an 11...
I have an old 12, and my dad told me to sand it down as he doesnt need it anymore, and just keep sanding it bit by bit until it fits the fitment to unscrew the freehub.
Does anyone have any clue what sort of freehub this is? Very unusual.0 -
they're £2.45 here
buy one as they're hugely useful for propping door open, levering and general hitting0 -

not hugely unusual, actually, Halo Spindoctor Hubs and a few others are the same - on those the 11mm allen key undoes a retaining bolt from the inside of the hub, then freehub itself screws off the other way from outside.
I do have an 11mmm allen key, left over from when I owned a Spindoctor hub. PM me if you don't want to bother sanding down that 12mm.....
Just in case yours is an unbranded version of the same thing:
