I had an issue getting hold of a headset for a 2005 1500slr a couple of years back, dealers and the net were useless.
I didn't have the old headset so one suggested that I take a plaster cast of the head tube to get the size and shape, the other suggested that I should keep buying headsets until I get the right one.
I called Trek uk and they sorted out the part no when I gave them the year and model, a call to another dealer and they ordered the headset for me.
  • Plaster casting to find headset size - that's bonkers who gave you that advice so I can avoid them please

Trek UK number(01908 360160), explain your situation, Trek UK will ask for the year and model and they'll give you the part number so you can order one. Simple
