I'm trying to organise a stag do in Edinburgh and could do with a few tips on things to do.

What's good, what's bad and things to avoid?

The age range is starting at 35, average age touching 40 and a couple of Grandads.

Thoughts?

    Dont go here http://www.grainstore-restaurant.co.uk/about/ it's sh1t

Do go here http://www.tigerlilyedinburgh.co.uk/ it's very smart and not sh1t at all.

This is quite cool if your into a bit of history, http://www.realmarykingsclose.com/
  • Depends on what yer looking for.
Edinburgh is a drinking heaven if you avoid the attention of the door staff who are generally despicable people.

There is everything from Posh,(George street) to nice pubs (Rose street) to student cheap holes (The grass market)

More eateries than you can shake a stick at, decent hotels, etc etc

What are you looking to do ?
Trek,,,, too cool for school ,, apparently

    In kilts?
  • If you like hot curry this place does a spectacularly hot curry.

    http://www.kismot.co.uk/kismotkiller.html

Extract from BBC news website reporting on the Kismot Killer Curry Contest a few years ago.

"Curie Kim, 21, an American student on an exchange to Edinburgh University, said she decided to enter the challenge when she saw it advertised in the restaurant.

She told the BBC Scotland's news website: "It was very painful and felt like I was being chainsawed in the stomach with hot sauce on the chainsaw.
    "

It also does some very nice normal curries.
  • Thanks for the tips. At the moment I'm struggling for day time activities over and above the usual shooting, go karting etc.

The best thin about Edinburgh is that it has an airport - you can exit the place quick.

@Arran - I live miles from the bloody place, so he doesn't have to worry about me.

I thought you sniffed out new victims as soon as they crossed the border :P

  • Things to avoid - Edinburgh!

    Glasgow is fun.

Old saying. "you'd have more fun at a Glasgow stabbing than and Edinburgh wedding" - I believe it.
