because underpants are cheap and easy to get your size and know what style fits and suits you - whereas bib-shorts are none of those things ...
PS - If its any consolation to you my missus thinks it's disgusting as well and I only did it once to be able to try a pair of Assos without the massive gamble and got right royally ripped off!!0 -

Dunno about you but I have this thing called a washing machine........Use hot water (140 degrees F. or 60 degrees C.) and regular detergent for infected laundry. Lower temperatures will not kill the fungus and can transfer spores to other fabrics in the same load.
That's from the first google I saw on Fungal infections going through Washing Machines, not sure about STI's, Faeces, etc... I think myself I'd wash second hand bib-shorts with a blow torch just to make sure.0 -

I think some people would if anyone actually sold them, which they do not seem to do.

I don't wear the same pair at any point over two separate days, I definitely wouldn't buy second hand bibshorts or indeed, underwear. And the people bowed and prayed, to the neon god they made.0

I guess if a pair of worn twice Assos bibs comes up for sale at half the price of new ones it must be tempting to risk a dose of crabs.Pegoretti

A mate of mine sells everything on ebay. He's sold his 'collectable' bib shorts for the same price that he bought them for 15 years back. To be fair - they hadn't seen THAT much use...0
