I'm a little confused, last years bikes are like... Mega cheap at the moment, and has that much changed in a year?? I was looking at going 650b but when 26ers and 29ers are so much better value is there much point?
Look at this here...
http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/m1b0s154p5255/CANNONDALE-TRIGGER-29ER-3-2013
The spec looks good for the money with a huge saving.
Then there is this...
http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/m1b0s1p4942/GIANT-TRANCE-X-2-2013
If these bikes were good enough last year, surely they will be great for me, who needs this bike to last me a good 3 years. So are the specs on there ok?

both good specs, personally I'd go for the giant.0

Neither spec is lacking. I would rather the Revelation fork though, the Fox has a very linear response which means you either bottom out a lot or get shaken to pieces over smaller bumps.
Trance is very well reviewed, however, and seemingly a bit of a favourite on here.0 -
I would probably go for the Giant, sell the fork as new and buy a Revelation. Nothing wrong with the Canondale though.
I couldn't justify a 650b bike when 26" bikes are this cheap.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

Thus is exactly what I was thinking, I will be paying more money for this years bike, and 650b, for less bike in effect.Kev

That's a great deal! I want it!
Depends what sort of rider you are. If the descents are more important to you and you like to hammer it, get the reign. If you're more of an xc, all day rider who doesn't hammer the descents as fast get the trance.

M8 has the trance, really rates it, never wishes for anything else. Loves it. No issuesCube reaction gtc race 2011 26er, Canyon spectral al 8.0 2014, cube reaction gtc race 2015 29er
How much for that!!!!!0 -
I love the descents when I find them hahaKev

If you want to do all day rides, blast the red trails and do general xc riding then the Trance is best. If you want to ride harder, shred black trails and DH trails and don't mind working harder to carry a little extra weight the the Reign is excellent. Slightly ropey fork on both but because they are Fox you will be able to sell them as new for about the same price as a much better new Revelation.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

The reign 2 is also available and that has the revelation fork and is £300 cheaper. Too many options and I have the money waiting, I have been researching for too long!!!! Been from the new 905, to the new trance, to last years trance, to the reign, it's a bloody note mare choosing a bike!!!!Kev
