Advice please on best MTB for approx £500-600
Halfords.
Voodoo hoodoo
Carrera fury or Kracken
Boardman mx/cx comp bike.

Decathlon.
Rockrider 8.1.

Your views please

  • Stretch another £50 and get the boardman comp.

    Much nicer than all the others. The rockriders may have decent specs as well but they look like something your dad rode in the 70s!

    Rockriders are good xc bikes but the geometry is a bit dated now. I'd probably go for the voodoo or a Boardman.

    So the RR will be perfect if the OP just rides XC, his riding habits he hasn't shared with us...yet!
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

  • Very good value. Will be more than adequate for the usage you describe.
