Elixir R levers flopping forward and lever moves up and down

I have elixir r brakes and the levers are flopping forward away from my hands and also they are moving up and down very slightly although that's not really too much of an issue. Which parts would I need to put that right? Thanks!

The up and down is probably bushing play, not really anything to worry about but I suspect it is a new master lever to fix. The flopping forwards is probably the circlip on the rod gone which should be fixable.

Best bet is a good lbs for both

Bushes are dead and the piston rod is worn. SRAM wont sell spares for Avid brakes so there's not much you can do with them other than buy a new lever body. I had the same issues with my old Avid X0 brakes, new lever bodies were £190 each!

Rubbish!

Buy this and have a go at repairing the brake yourself. I ripped the lever out of my Elixir R front brake in a crash and successfully rebuilt it using this kit and the lever reach adjuster kit.

Just checked and the same service kit is avilable from zee Germans for a few quid less.

The one you want will be for Elixir CR / R / 5. Avid part number A150640A.
You may also need a lever reach adjuster kit. Avid part number A15026A.
