continental mud tyres

I'm after some decent budget mud tyres to fit to my Stumpjumper fsr for riding the currently very muddy single track down here in the Forest of Dean. I've been looking at Conti vertical, Gravity and Baron tyres on Chainreaction all at about £13 each. I've a few reviews saying the Barons a good front and rear and. Others saing mix verticals front with gravity rear. I'd normally use WTB Velociraptors for the mud down here but can't find a rear for sale anywhere on the web. I'd like to ise the Conti's as I use the brand on my road bikes. So know the quality etc. Any suggestions.

Nothing is working at fod at the moment, the trails are proper fooked. Conti Barons are very good winter (and UK summer) tyres.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

The £13 conti tyres won't be black chili and so will be terrible. Steer clear.0

The cheap Barons are surprisingly not too bad. They rely more on big nobbles rather than soft compounds.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Oh really, that may be true, but avoid wire beads in any case0

Thanks for the advice, might try some Barons. Wish I could find some velociraptors though.0
