Inbred 29er or 456 evo2 advice please

Hi all
I am moving house in a few weeks and once settled will be treating myself to a new bike.
I rode dh for many years and built a featherweight rigid whippet last year but unfortunately had to sell it almost as soon as it was completed so this will be the first 'practical' bike I've had for years!!
As the move of home has emptied my bank account, I will have to go for a finance option and cannot justify more than the £900 price tag of these two bikes.
I want something to build my fitness level at first and get out to Cannock as much as possible. I like On One as a company and think the Inbred and 456 offer great value for money as complete builds. I'm just not too sure which one would be my better option, I ride bikes pretty hard (coming from a dh background) so the 456 seems a good option on that front but the more xc orientated Inbred may be a better long term choice. I've not ridden a 29er yet but a friend of mine has just bought a Trek Mamba so could take that for a spin and see what I think.
Any help or advice here would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance
James

The evo may suit for more hardcore stuff but the 29er better over distance - depends what riding you intend to do. I had the regular inbred (26er) and liked that, coped well with technical sections of Lakeland bridleway with only 100mm travel & very comfortable. I've heard that the 456 is a stiffer ride, as you might expect.
