Dura Ace 9000 Crankset Compatibility

Does anyone know if the 9000 cranks are compatible with the 7900 group?
I know shimano say no but have heard of people running these together with no probs,
I'd especially love to hear from someone who has experience of trying it,

    Haven't tried that precise combination, but from experience of mixing 10/11 speed stuff in the past, they will be absolutely fine together.

    Thanks Major, really tempted to give this a try, apparently the chain is slightly narrower on the 11 speed set up so I'm a little worried about the effect this will have on shifting.
