    So ,no.

If it were mine I'd end up fixing it, taking it out for a couple of runs then it would just sit back on the shelf for another 12 months, as mine are doing now. :D

  • Not my bag any more, and its a big bunch of space in the corner..

might try and flea bay it, not sure if there is a classified for RC stuff..
  • I have a Hyper 7 which I blast around the field behind my house (or bashing I believe its called!). Haven't used it for a while though. Quite enjoy the engine tuning and the technical side of how it all works.

Good fun but expensive if it breaks :-(
Bikes are OK, I guess... :-)

Got a traxxas 1/16 summit last year, loads of fun! But, same old story, not use in a while so sat on the shelf. I was amazed at how the tech had moved on though, brushless motor is rapid! As quick as the nitro I had before, but without the faff.
MTB's, SC Blur LTc & Cotic Soul (26" definitely aint dead!).
    Other, Genesis Croix De Fer
  • ah the rc10b3 is retro old, some thing like 13tripple in it stock motor..

    real old school!

Used to race also. 1/10th electric TC's 2wd offroad and 4wd offroad :P
And the people bowed and prayed, to the neon god they made.
  • I was really really really tempted to make a homemade one out of a chainsaw engine, making my own chassis, but the price for custom RC car parts is monumentally high, and i dont really understand servos and how to get it all to work correctly via the RC. It would have probably came to £300. Crazy money on a little car.

And i wont ever buy a brand new one, because i love building things so it would defeat the purpose for me, and i really wanted to weld my own chassis together and mount my own engine in there.

Shame really, as im sure it would be an awesome hobby to have, but with most hobbies that are fun, it is quite expensive.

I favourited this ages ago, and i remember it was still in my bookmarks. Its worth a share.

The last chassis I raced in 1/10th touring cars cost more than £300 before any electrics or bodyshells went near it

RC is like cycling, you can spend as much as you want to do it, but being competitive is another matter 8)

Beyond setups and driving the thing of course

Aye, on my last 4wd car (Kyosho Lazer) I had about £300 in the rolling chassis, and that was 25 years ago. I used to race every week for years (local club and regional inter-club team championships etc), but packed it in when I was about 17 (1990 ish) 'cos it wasn't fun anymore - people just took it far too seriously (it's racing toy cars ffs...). At the end I had my 4wd Kyosho Lazer (once pictured in RCMC magazine - oh, the fame...) and my 2wd Schumacher Cougar. Sold the Cougar and all my radio gear (I always favoured a wheel, rather than sticks), fancy peak charger, electrics etc, but still have the Lazer rolling chassis in a box in the loft, half built, half in bits. Got a box of rosettes and vulgar looking trophies up there too (including one spectacularly phallic one from a big meeting in York, lol).
  • hmmm just checking my gear over, new receiver and some batteries and i think it would run...

Selling it all is the hassle, reckon its a fleabay job? or is there a more specialised classified that would be better?
  • get a job and buy one ;)

Used too before I emigrated (then came back). There was a local club that had leagues and what not. I had/have (not sure) a few Yokomo MR4TC's and the usual selection of Tamiya buggies and what not. Always wanted them as a kid having seen the videos playing in our local toy shop.
Bugger, now trying to remember the name of the shop is going to do me in. 80's / 90's chain of town centre toy/hobby stores, may have been black / yellow signage, well known at the time as 'the' place for your RC and airfix needs.
Arrrgggh, help me out brothers, it's doin' me 'ead in. :(

edit: BEATTIES! It was Beatties. Thank f*^k for that.

sort of. I keep wanting to buy another one occasionally, but never get round to it.
Used to race them when I were knee high to a miner.
  • Used to. Got a 26cc hpi baja petrol buggy a 1/8th nitro rally cross buggy and a 1/10th rally car. Hardly use them anymore though

I've got a hpi savage flux and 3 old tamiya shelf queens. They savage is the only one i use, ridiculously fast and can take some serious hammer with a few upgrades. The tamiyas are the ones I wanted as a kid but couldn't afford. :-)
