replacing chain at 0.75 to make cassette last longer

when my chain gets to 0.75 should i replace it with a new one and hope the chain dont slip on the cassette

    Yes, if you get it early enough you can get 3 chains on a cassette.

    Even better if you buy 3 chains and then rotate them as they all wear together so are more compatible.
    I'm left handed, if that matters.

    I do this and got 4 chains to each of my last two cassettes = reckon I could well have got more as they still ran fine but decided at that point the cassette had served me well.
