Matching old Bike

I own a Pinnacle Bachelor single speed which I used to commute with in London and still occasionally use. I've recently moved to Devon and have since bought Btwin Triban 3 to deal with hills and get me into longer rides. I always thought the Bachelor was too big (i'm 5'8m and had the 56cm) so bought a 54cm Triban. However I experience a comfier, and what feels like a much more efficient ride on the bachelor. I'm struggling to find a god balance between comfort and efficiency on the Triban, not sure why.
So i'm thinking of upgrading to a dolomite 5 or something that would give me a similar feel to the Bachelor but with gears. To me (an extremely untrained eye) the geometry of the Dolomite...
