Any body got one of these bad boys?

Seen a couple of them with dura-ace spec and looks like a very attractive bike. Read a couple of reviews too, just wanted to hear first hand rider experience?

Cheers all

I have 6series with Ultegra and Bontrager brakes.Great bike, choose your fit that suits you best.
A bit bad brakes,at least for me they miss the stopping power,on the end of the braking.
I use Rotor with BB90 and no problems there.
My Madone is H2 fit,a bit too high for me but it is comfy for longer rides.Sensor in frame is pretty nice.

Bad things - front brake needs to be replaced, paint on some parts is falling down(chainstay, left).

    I had a fit,but I thought about H1 or H2 fit.

5-series and 6,at least then, were different in country of origin.5series is from Taiwan and 6 from USA.Maybe a bit different laying in carbon or some technology thing. But I think nothing important.

Woundering if anyone can help. seen an amazing deal on Gumtree

    http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/stunn ... 1058582382

Spoken to the seller, and hes based In Omagh, where as Im based in South East London. I can offer him the money, but he doesn't have paypal. Does anyone know a secure way in sending money over? I know Gumtree can be a bit scam central.

    Thanks all

I have a 2014 5.9 which I bought last month ... managed around 800-odd miles so far and I must say I'm impressed. I've come from a 2012 Madone 4.7 and I find this bike much more comfortable in terms of ride quality. As a comparison the frame seems to feel far more rigid but at the same time, it doesn't seem to transfer poor road surfaces through the bike.

Its fairly well specced ... DA chainset, front and rear mechs and levers. Chain and cassette are Ultegra and brakes are Bontrager ... I was a little suspect about these but they seem powerful enough. The rear can lock up in the dry with full weight (83kg-ish) if you're not careful with around 60% braking power. Handing is superb, I'm not wary of balls-out decents, of which there are plenty around me and this bike just feels secure.

Although the frame looks superb in matt black, I don't think its going to wear too well ... a few marks have appeared despite my anal approach to cleaning and maintenance! So far I've added some Look carbon blades, Bontrager XXX bottle cages and XXX stem ... I've ordered a set of 38mm Wheelsmith carbon clinchers which should be arriving soon. At that point, I think it will be all the bike I need. The standard Bontrager RL wheels feel surprisingly up to the job ... form memory I think they're around 1500g so not what you'd class as heavy. My previous Madones wheels were a real let down ... they didn't feel like they rolled well, possibly due to their weight (I rode the 4.7 with Mavic ksyrium elites as I wasn't happy with the wheels).

I actually had a bike fit for the first time which I felt was well worth the effort when spending that sort of money. My LBS made a few adjustments ... wider seat, (to suit my big rear end!) longer seat pin, shorter stem (90mm from the standard 100mm) ... my bike is a 56cm but I'm long legged and short bodied (freak). I was tempted to get a 6 series P1 but the 5.9 is such good value ... yes its not a Taiwanese frame rather than from the US but I'm delighted with my decision. Most of my rides have been 50 - 90 miles per ride so far and I've been very comfortable with no real negatives so far ...

Go for it, although I'm not sure if I would buy used. On the Trek Madone 5 series and upwards you've got the frame warranty and crash warranty ... a pretty valuable addition IMO.

Here's a pic (pre stem and steerer cut!)

You said it, I'd steer clear of it if I were you

Description is wrong, probably copied from elsewhere!
6800 not 6700, BBB inca bars not Bontrager Race Lite.
    All looks a bit dodgy.
If it was your bike and you were selling you would know what's on it and you wouldn't sell it on gumtree.

Oola your bike looks amazing, I’m almost getting obsessed with the brakes being underneath. The seat stays look like a work of art with out the
    Brake being there.

Humm It’s a lot of trust to put in somebody I don’t know.

Darkhairedlord - I noticed that too, but i did a cheeky Catfish Google image URL search and it came back with only that advert

Thanks ... yes I'm really pleased with how it looks too. I managed to see one in the flesh before I committed, albeit a 54cm, as in the brochure and webshots it looked a little odd ... the head angle looks too steep.

As above, just tread very carefully ... that'd be the first place I'd look if I bikes of mine went missing. Its a lot of money if it turns out to be stolen or just a scam.

Selling a £2k bike but can't be ars*d to setup a paypal account which takes about 5 minutes? Why would someone not want to offer a safe payment method for the buyer?

    I wouldn't.
