I'm looking for new shoes - flats, not SPDs, but suitable for when you get to the push/carry stage (grippy sole, somewhat water/mad resistant). Should be stiff but walkable (built in camber).

Budget?
5.10s range would be worth a look, if you want to pay £70 per pair.0 -

5:10's are in no way waterproof, they are similar to sponges.
Both these suggestion are OK for rocky terrain, but little use on steep grass/mud (i.e., UK). Need something more akin to mountain walking or fell running tread, but pedal-friendly.0 -
Id say AM 41's, ive got the spd versions (AM45) and they're awesome!!0

Teva Links? Very comfy on and off the bike.0

I don' think that these exist. The deeper the tread, the less grip you will get on a flat pedal.
Closest MTB specific would be something like a Shimano MT33: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/shimano-mt33-spd-leisure-shoes/ or Northface Escape: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/northwave-escape-mtb-shoes/
Can't vouch for either though. I'm another advocate of the AM41.2007 Felt Q720 (the ratbike)
2012 Cube Ltd SL (the hardtail XC 26er)
2014 Lapierre Zesty TR 329 (the full-sus 29er)0 -
AM41 are good, slippy while walking though. I've found Sombrio X-Shazams to grip much better off the bike (not on), but are less weatherproof and you'll probably have a hard time finding any.Cube Analog 2012 with various upgrades.0
