Hi all,
I will be making my maiden tour in April this year - Lejog solo in 13 days B&B style
I am now awaiting delivery of my new carradice camper longflap saddlebag
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/carradice-campe ... 5360340566
With the quick release expedition clamp
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/carradice-bagma ... -mount-qr/
This will hold all my kit - I decided against panniers purely because I prefer the look and the position of the carradice and I feel if I need more room than the saddlebag then I have probably over-packed!
However - I would like a waterproof bar bag for phone, camera, general stuff - problem is I have a garmin 810 edge with a forward mount - I find it very hard to use the garmin when it is just on the stem and I am reluctant to lose the extended mount(see below). Anyone know of a bar bag that wouldnt foul my garmin mount- or an ingenious way of mounting an existing bar bag so it fits?

Have you considered a frame fit bag instead of a bar bag? Above or below the top tube.0

That looks wuite interesting - the mount is very narrow so I think my garmin would fit with that on - thanks! Thats one option ...... any opinion on how waterproof it is?0 -
the bag comes with a cover, and my garmin 800 mount fits fine :-)
and that pic shows the wrong mount on its own (older model)..but the bag pics are correct0 -

I hadnt considered that - purely as it seems like you can get much in them, especially bulky items.... I will probably want to stash a camera, phone, power pack ect - do you think its an option I should look at then?0 -

Thank you! Other than DIYing something to fit that is the best option I have seen ...Looks quite samll and unobtrusive too - I dont want to overload the handles0 -
I have had this recommended on another forum too but im worried about how durable it would be ... basically a T bar that connects on stem under the bars and allows a lower fitting for bag bags or other accessories

I wouldn't expect a full bag to stay level, and it could possibly drop down. Also worth considering what your cables are like in front. with the topeak the bracket sits high enough. the lower T one may interfere with the cables.0

I was thinking of something like this

I use one of them as well as the bar bag.0
