Tapered Reducer Help

Hi
I have a Planet X Dirty Harry frame and a FSA Orbit C-40 No.42 ACB Tapered Headset (http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/HSFSOCF40/ ... ed-headset)
I still need to get some forks. Merlin Cycles have 10% off the forks I want (Reba RLT 29er) but they only have the white tapered version in stock,I would prefer black. But I can get the non tapered version at the discounted price, so that is what I'm proposing to do.
However I will therefore need a reducer of some sort and this is where I am becoming stuck, can any one recommend a solution.
Many thanks
David

new bottom part of headset or reducer from FSA (if they make one)0

You need a "crown race reducer", FSA make them, you just need to find one that will work with your headset.0

Yes, thats the one... ukbikestore tend to have them, sometimes crc0

Get a Hope one, it just spaces out the gap so works with any headset with the standard crown race, I have two of them and they work perfectly

I tried the Hope reducer in my FSA headset on my old Anthem. It didn't fit properly, the headset was either stiff or loose almost like the bearing wasn't rotating.
The FSA crown race is cheaper and works perfectly.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
So if I can find that crown race reducer in the uk, I don't need anything else.0

That's correct yes, the headset you bought should have come with a 1.5in crown race... This reducer replaces that 1.5in crown race, you don't need anything else.
Am 95% certain this is the part you need but double check: https://secure.ukbikestore.co.uk/produc ... eerer.html0 -
It does. Well that's 95% more than me. Ordered.0

Something must have been up, I've got two, each on a different type of fork/headset and both combo's work perfectly. It's too simple to go wrong, in effect just a large washer with 1.125 id and 1.5 od so not headset specificYT Wicked 160 ltd
