I want to upgrade to a 29er (On One Inbred). If I'm 6foot and want a more upright position. Should I get medium or large frame as they say both are suitable for 6 foot tall people?

Unfortunatley their shops are both up north so I cant go and try them.

Is all about reach. What sort of top tube lengths and stem lengths are you used to?

Not sure really about physical lengths. I have riser bars on a very long stem with a big angle.

I previously had a large size pompino which i liked. I'm thinking the Inbred will be similar since it's from the same company.

Totally different frames I'm afraid. See if you can find the geometry of them.
  • usually if you fit 2 frames the smaller one needs a longer stem and a higher positioned saddle resulting in a bigger drop to bars from the saddle. Whereas the larger frame means a shorter stem to give you the same reach (because the top tube is longer) and the saddle relative to the top of the seat tube (for the same reason) thus giving a smaller saddle to bar drop and a more upright position. Also most larger bike have a longer head tube and given that the wheels are the same size this too would give you a more upright position.

+1 to exploring the geometry for each size but add the stem length into the equation to give you your overall reach on your current bike. Remember that if you need to be more upright you need to decrease your current reach. You could try a smaller stem on you current bike and see the difference it makes?
