liking the pink cables bender, definitely the way to go with a condor. I reapplied my pink bar tape tonight and even though everyone in work slagged it off its the bollocks and i love it.0

I like this a lot. After building up my Baracchi and getting my Acciao resprayed (must post this sometime) I am now hankering for a cross bike for next winter (and to do some Summer touring on), guess it will be one of these.0

Upgraded and changed a few bits.
In comes a SRAM Force Wifli rear mech, for added off road ability. Out goes the FIzik for a simple Charge Spoon.

Mid life crises can have positive outcomes occasionally...
Jokes aside, I never really got the point of a set of guards... unless you want to ride with proper clothes on. It's one of these things... if you feel you need an i-phone, then maybe you need guards too, but once you get used to live without, you realise you are not missing out on anything...left the forum March 20230 -

The other obvious benefit is, when I get bored, which won't be long, I won't look at the Ritchey Swiss Cross frame and think, darn, no mudguards. Instead I'll just buy it and use the MTB when it's grim.
Besides I have a Gabba (well, in fact I have two) so there's very little to clean. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Makes no difference... you get spray either way, just at a different angle. Besides, spray is a good reminder not to stay on someone's wheel when it's wet, as it's not safeleft the forum March 20230 -
Have to agree with that. Overtaken by two riders last night, no mudguards, spray was less than that thrown up from mudguarded ones. And, as Ugo says, need to stay back, especially in such conditions. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

The only thing mudguards do is protect you from that spray off the tyre that is aimed at your own bum. Its the only difference I have ever noticed! They certainly do my son no good when he is on the trailer bike- before I realised he finished one trip to school looking like he had been involved on one of the wet and dirty spring classics!RIP commute...

A bit of honesty needed here! Well my version anyway. Some bikes (especially like the ones on this thread) look crap with mudguards and that is a good reason not to want them on. My commuter has mudguards, it's not the best looking bike so I don't care if it makes it look worse, but they do stop my backside and saddlebag (gasp!) getting soaked with road spray and the front guard stops me getting a face full of spray off the front wheel. I know that if it's raining I'll still get wet but rain is not the same as road spray which is liquid slurry with added grit and animal body parts.0
