Spraying a carbon/alu frame - recommendations for a sprayer!
Hi all,
I have a 2007 Cannondale System Six which to be frank is an amazing bike and all the bike I will probably ever need (need, not want!!! ), its starting to look a little tired and Im getting a little bored of the finish on the bike so want to get it re-sprayed matte black with lime green highlights and decals, the frame has a carbon front end and an aluminium rear end, and also carbon forks, and herein lies the problem as I can’t seem to find anyone to prep and spray the bike due to it being half carbon and half aluminium?
If it was an all aluminium bike then this would be no problem as it could be powder coated, however finding someone who will prep and spray the frame is proving difficult?
Does anyone know anywhere that could do this at a reasonable cost, preferably in the Cardiff/South Wales area?
I contacted Argos in Bristol a while back and they seemed non-interested, they had a long waiting list and were quite expensive from memory (business must be good).
I am not in a rush to get it done but would like to have it completed by the start of this race season if I can, if not it has to wait until next winter.
Thanks all.

Obsessed is a word used by the lazy to describe the dedicated!

There are people who will do it, but it'll cost due to large amount of manual preparation needed. Expect to pay in the region of £250-300 for a frame and forks respray, depending on complexity. You could save yourself some money by removing the paint / rubbing down the frame yourself.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
