Quick disc brake mount question...

Hi all,
Planning on fitting some XTR (M975) brakes (180/160 rotors) to my 2006 Chameleon frame with DMR Trailblade 20mm fork up front - the brakes are both post mount, the F&F both feature IS mounts so i'm looking at a 180 post to IS for the front & a 160mm post to IS for the rear... this I understand.
While looking for mounts I noticed a cheap 160mm post to IS Shimano rear mount & wondered if I just picked up 2 of these would it work as a front 180mm mount or am I missing something crucial here? I remember someone telling me a 160mm rear mount can be used as a 180mm front mount but never tried it myself - anyone confirm this or did I just make it up?
Cheers!

so if you read the topic in the FAQs you would know the difference in the IS mounts is 20mm
so yes a rear 160 is the same as a front 180."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
