Hey,

I'm looking into picking up a budget single speed as a commuter/runaround bike. Does anyone have any experience of these (the £399 model)?

Any thoughts or alternative recommendations appreciated.

Cheers

I had a look at one in a local shop when I was getting my SS (Bristol dropouts has them in the store). The bike did seem pretty nice and solidly built for the money and the custom bar/colour/whatever options are huge!

I would have got one if my budget didn't get hammered down when shopping. As a result I bought a merlin single malt instead http://www.merlincycles.com/merlin-sing ... 61807.html. I have a black one with bull horn bars.

To mine I bought some TT leavers and new cables and swapped the brakes as I don't like the idea of those silly leavers in the middle.
