Can anyone personally recommend a place not too far from Bolton where I can get a bike fit ?

On the same vain, if having a bike and all they have to do is say, adjust the seat coz you already have everything bob on, do they still charge the full wack ?

  • A new bike company opened near me that I think does bike fits.
Beacon Bikes in Whalley runs a sister company Protool Cycleworks, give them a ring. I think they have a guy who worked with team GB and they seem to know their stuff.

Cheers for the advice. Is it Beacon Bikes or Protool ? The website is a little confusing

Pedal precision at the velodrome are good. Not as complete as cadence sport if you're willing to travel bit it's cheaper.

They are part of the same setup. Protool started beforehand but they moved into the Beacon Shop because they assemble the bikes too. Their setup looks very impressive although the bikes look a little expensive for what you get.

Re Cadence sport, why would I want custom footbeds ? That's a genuine question by the way.

    +1 Paul Hewiltt.
Be warned though - despite the external appearance/location of the shop it is an absolute Alladins Cave of cycling goodness, and you will spend money :-)

    Also +1 Cadence Sport .
If you are prepared to travel to (nr) Burton on Trent you get top service by a local legend tour cyclist and includes custom footbeds in the price.

Because they are awesome and once you've ridden with them, it feels horrible without.

I`ll say Paul Hewitt as well, simple straight forward advice with no B/S

Paul Hewitt - Beware though he is very very direct and doesn't give or take any BS. Some people mistake this as being rude lol

    LOL, what he said.

Don't let that put you off though, he's a perfectly nice chap. Just a bit reserved is all.

As you're only in Bolton, you'd be crazy to go anywhere else tbh....

(And yes, his shop is full of shiny shiny things)
  • A guy I ride with sometimes is setting up a fit business just off the M62 on the Yorks/Lancs border, so not too far from you. I think he's planning to do the whole Sidas footbed thing too. Their email is fit2ridebikefit@gmail.com

Had a good experience with Richard at Pedal Precision in Manchester Velodrome
