What do they way?I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles0

Just for reference, 42 mm alloy rims that don't fall apart when you sneeze weigh in excess of 600 grams each... do your maths and you get shy of 2 Kg with light hubs and spokes.
Other consideration: if you buy them for the look, bear in mind black anodised rims wear out on the brake track and the rest of the alloy ages and discolours.left the forum March 20230 -

Anyone been running these? Interested to see how they age....0

They age in the way I said previously... and that's the case for all metal anodised with black... if you want something that looks ace forever, get polished alloy and keep polishing it. Any coating will age, discolour, flake off, get scratched and there is no exception to this or magic formula that the German secret services have and the rest of the world doesn't...
Get big coated metal surfaces = they will ageleft the forum March 20230 -
After scrapping every corner in the internet to collect any real hands-on feedback for these Veltec Speed AL wheels, I found these two sources to be most valuable:
i) Long-run test of the Tour (10/2013) magazine, where they have tested 16 mid-priced wheelsets, such as Campags Eurus and Scirocco, DTs RR21 Dicut and R1700, Fulcrums 1 & 3, Mavics Ksyrium and SLS, along with a couple of Eastons, Shimanos, etc. You get the picture of the quality/price range. They let them run almost 7000km in Schwalbe testing facilities, whereupon measured their stiffness, and gauged weight correspondence to the claimed manufacturer values. Except for the big weight-penalty that the Veltecs (1875g on the scales w/o skewers) received in comparison with the rivals, they performed above average in the selected group of 16 wheelsets (in both front/rear stiffness and wear after spinning them for 7kkm). This is the summary that Tour puts up: "Really high profile for alu aero-rims, which makes them relatively heavy. Steady on higher speeds. Suits best beginners and TT/Tri. With a good stiffness, a fair choice for heavier riders. Long-run test with no problems".
ii) the second valuable source is a Dutch forum: http://www.fiets.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=52252&sid=954901ed441e1d40031131ef8576575c . The last pages contain several feedbacks from people actually riding the Veltec wheelset for a couple of kkm.
Just wanted to save some time for people considering these wheels. Draw your own conclusions.0 -
I've recently bought a set of Veltec Speed AM 37mm profile. Firstly I need to comment how discrete the decals look against the semi aero rims, they are a truly nice looking wheel set.
These wheels are an excellent example of great German engineering. The quality is fantastic and the freehub isn't too quiet and not too loud.
I've ridden these for approximately 500 miles and the still remain true having hit some pot holes. The Wheelset have a combined weight of 1740g and are by no means the lightest but the acceleration on them are very noticeable.
When on a bike stand they seem to spin forever.
I would strongly recommend these over mavic ksyrium elite s or fulcrum racing quatros over performance price and build quality.0
