Wiggle New Forest or Chiltern Big Dipper?

Evening all - having entered the Meon Valley, only for it to be moved to a weekend I can't make, there are a couple of options for 13 April - the Wiggle Spring New Forest Sportive and the Chiltern Big Dipper. Has anyone here down either / both?

If so, I'd be interested to hear you views of them.

Cheers

I did the New Forest Spring Sportive, and the New Forest 100 last year and really enjoyed it. Great scenery, good food stops and very fast ride for the distance (it's alot flatter than I'm used to, coming from Devon and doing most of my riding on Dartmoor and surround area).

I'd definitely recommend it, but can't comment on the Chiltern Big Dipper for a comparison. I guess it depends on which is easier to get to for you, what type of ride you're after. Hope that's slightly useful :)

Nice one thanks - I'm a bit unsure about the Wiggle event tbh. I like the sound of the New Forest as it's an area I haven't cycled in before, but the lack of proper climbing is a bit of a turn off - if I'm going to pay money to take part in an event, it's gotta hurt... What type of twisted logic is that

If you want lots of 1km+ climbs, then the Chiltern ride is the better option.

The New Forest is a lovely ride but is a fast rolling course with only a couple of climbs (nothing like you will get on the Big Dipper)

Agreed, if you're after climbing, the New Forest rides aren't for you.

Willing to travel to Devon? If so, check out the Moor2Sea and Dartmoor Classic (classic sold out this year in less than 24 hrs, but next year?!)
