Shimano Barrel Adjustor

I've a Shimano Br-505 brake and the barrel adjuster is just spinning and IMO not doing much. So I would like to replace it.
Will this do the trick or is this to be attached at the dérailleur: CRC.
I want the one that feeds into the shifter.

    Have you pushed it in whilst screwing it up to allow for the spring.

    Yeah but it doesn't seem to be grabbing in the threads. And after I have spun it for a while there isn't any tension...

    i would be looking at what is wrong with it. has it unscrewed? are the threads stripped?

    if it correctly. replace the damaged part. (might be the caliper).
