Jacket/Jumper Warm Thing...

I've had a RockGardn Dawn Patrol Windshirt for a while (about 6 years I think!) but its started to fall apart so needs replacing.
I don't want anything fancy, I think I paid £15-£20 for the Rockgardn and its always been just enough to be that extra layer to keep me warm when its chilly but not wet.
I just don't want plastic sweaty crap, a like for like replacement for the Rockgardn would be perfect.
This review pretty much sums up exactly what I want and why I liked it:

But I just can't find anything remotely similar. Its either a plastic wind stopper, waterproof or full blown jacket!
Any ideas?

If I've understood the brief correctly I think you're looking for a soft shell windproof jacket/jersey?
I don't know of any particular bargains at the moment but TK Maxx normally have a selection, some even with a cycle specific cut.0 -
Also try trespass, they do some decent stuff in my experience.0

Cool cheers guys., the Mrs always enjoys a trip to TK.
Was hoping to get something MTB oriented though, the cut of the RG is spot on for cycling!0 -
This windproof came through on Bike Deals today. Seems like a bargain for £32.49

This costs a bit more but looks very good: http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/CLBMWZTJ/bi ... ugh_jacket
same here - http://www.merlincycles.com/altura-tran ... 50843.html
On One also have a fleece for about 24 quid and some merino products too if that interests.'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0 -
mmmmm.. I know this is really vein, but I don't really like the xc whippet/roadie look.
Although, as I'm hanging on to the Specialized for a bit longer to keep fit it might work.
I prefer something with a bit of room inside, I've tried the Altura on before and its pretty clingy. I've got big shoulders so anything xc oriented is quite restrictive!0 -
