after a frame has been resprayed, what does facing a bottom bracket actually involve? and can it be done yourself?

    and if you have the tools sure you can threads will most likely need a clean first. a good set is about 600 Quid.

    From Park tools (below)
    (not really a job for the average home workshop - LBS will probably charge about £15)

    The Park Tool BTS1 Bottom Bracket Tapping and Facing Set is a precision tool system which provides a piloted means of tapping the threads in the bottom bracket shell of a frame. After tapping, the taps act as guides to keep the included facing cutter perfectly square with the axis of the bottom bracket for cleanup of the faces of the bottom bracket shell.

    Had mine done for £10 at my LBS - an awful lot cheaper than buying a facing tool.

    That's the Yorkshire price. I pay a bit more in the South East

    I reckon about £3.75 in Cardiff!

    (I grew up in Cardiff, before anyone shouts, btw)

    Anyone remember 'Charlie's' in Grangetown. Legend. (You'll need to be at least 40 for that to ake any sense)
