What alternative for Campag triple front mech?

My winter bike has a fairly old 9spd Campag set up with a triple chain set. The front mech has just about had its day so I am wondering can I use an old shimano 9spd front mech off a MTB from the spares box or is the spacing too different to make this a possibility?

Worth trying if you have one.
I used an old 105 front mech on a Campagnolo 9 speed setup for a while. Worked fine for me.

I used a 105 triple front mech on a Campag triple nine speed system for a while and it worked but not very well. The cable pull is different. I replaced it with a Centaur 10 speed front mech and that works fine on a nine speed.

9 speed front mechs are interchangable with 10 speed front mechs. so a veloce triple mech is the best option.
