Some good offers on tacx turbos at the moment.

I'm on a budget so is it a blue motion or a blue matic?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

    I purchased a Elite Elastomag turbo for my lad last week as he keeps falling of the rollers !!!

    He's spent most of the weekend on it, so we'll worth £130 I paid...... :D
  • Thanks rokt

    On the tacx models there are few different sellers;

    Wiggle sell blue motion for £130, Cr sell blue motion (pro satori replacement) for £150 and decathlon sell satori pro for £150 (is this an older version?)

    What's he difference? The decathlon one has a stronger brake I think?

    I purchased the Elite as it has the red plastic/rubber bit on it !!!, the part that the wheel makes contact
    with and I understand it helps with tyre wear. It's also very quiet.

    No very technical, but I hope it helps....

    I'm on a budget so I would be smart to get a Speedmatic?

    Thank you for that - but do you think I'm better spending another £10 for the blue motion?
  • Depends on,

    Are you already a regular dedicated turbo user?

    If yes then probably better to spend money on something really good - search for NapDs massive Guide to Turbo training thread on here. If you are new to it then get cheap 2nd hand defo if you can get a good one. Loads of people buy them at this time of year and never use them. I will ride in anything bar snow and ice so I use my Speedmatic only a few times a year with Sufferfest vids - it's absolutely fine for that but if you are going to get serious about turbo training you can get better.

    Search for Speedmatic there are plenty threads where they are discussed and also. Bike radar cheap turbo review from a few years back where they come out very well (that's why I bought mine).
