XR4s are clearly highly regarded, but is it all of them? Evans has one version for £11.99...

Are these ones rubbish and it's just the more expensive version that are the good ones? Is it a case of too good to be true for these? Just want something decent and cheap for my Trek clunker. It's not going to be with me too much longer but I'm out on it every day so I might as well as it's got some horrible Bontrager Jones on there now but, on the other hand, I don't want to throw money at it if I'm going to be on something better soon.
I guess, from the reviews, that even if these are not the best, they'll still be better than what I've got on there now. Check the customer reviews here...

I concur!
I'm riding a mix of road and forrest tracks, about 10 miles a day.

same tread and dual compounds on all types
team issue is 120 TPI while the comp and expert are 60 with the comp wire bead and the expert aramid. higher TPI means its more flexable and should roll better and normally a lighter thinner tyre so can be more easily damaged.0 -
So the cheaper ones are similar to the more expensive in how they ride but are more vulnerable?
Having all these different versions of the same tyres is rather confusing for us beginners! All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

cheaper ones are heavier and don't roll as well as the team issue but have tougher sidewalls.0
