Hey, I used to be into DH quite a while back and having just got this new GT for Christmas I thought I might give it another go. I have always enjoyed riding hardtails more then full sus so I asked for this bike instead of a full sus haha!
So I am looking for the moment to replace the front forks and the tyres.
I have only been out on it a few times around Thurstaston Common on the Wirral if anyone knows it?
Anyway I was going to get a Maxxis Minion DHF on the front and a Maxxis High Roller DH on the back. Are there any other options people want to fill me in on? I Don't want to spend too much on the tyres really.
As for the forks I realised I needed forks with more travel instantly, like as soon as I got on the bike haha! So I was thinking of getting Marzocchi 55 R Forks, the new 2014 edition as my budget for the forks is probably around £350.
Has anyone else had one of these bikes and changed it a little? Any other advice on things I could change with the bike would be welcome!
Cheers.

This is a cross country/trail bike, not a DH bike by a long shot. Those parts will simply not fit.0

The tyres would probably weigh more than the bike.I don't do smileys.

You don't need new parts, you need a new (different type) of bike!0
