Do I need inline cable adjusters?

My other bike has them fitted when I bought it.. Never used them

Is there a need for them?

Cheers

I use one for my front mech, but I run triples and find a little more adjustment necessary than a double.
Rears tend to have them built in so I don't bother.
It means the 2 packs they come in are good for 2 bikes.

If your bike has barrel adjusters at the down tube cable stops then no, you don't need them. If it doesn't, having the inline adjusters will make fine tuning your gears (particularly the front) that little bit easier but they're far from essential.

If you're intending to reuse rather than replace your cables, you'll need to fit them as each outer cable will be cut in two.

    Cheers folks

The bike (giant defy 0) has no down tube cable stops so I'm going to go for inline adjusters

Anyone point me in the direction of some for 105 5700

Have a look at the Jagwire mini inline cable adjusters, I use one for my front derailleur.

The Defy has head tube mounted cable stops. The LBS used Jagwire cables when building up my bike and fitted a mini in-line cable adjuster to the F/D cable run.
