Planet X RT58 vs big brand sportive options

I'll shortly be in the market for a new summer bike and likely will be gravitating to a relaxed all day comfort set up. Does anyone have any opinions or experience of the Planet X RT 58 as opposed to big brand comfort bikes such as the Specialized Roubaix, Trek Domane, Giant Defy etc. I don't mind not having a big branded bike as long as the ride and quality of equipment and finish is equal and will last just as long. I'd of course take advantage of PX's bike fitting service and build up a bike from the frame alone if needs be. Any thoughts?

PX offer really good vfm and good bikes, no massive advertising budgets etc so better value IMO. If you go to the shop ask for Craig, nice guy really helpful. I am a PX owner (not the RT 58) so maybe a bit biased.

I would also take a look at the Dolan Etape and Ribble Sportive offerings, both again good value bikes IMO.

I have the RT-58 its great, high spec and a relatively low price compared to what trek are offering with their domane etc. No problems at all and mines equipped with force and red, whereas you'd get 105 from other makes. Super comfy and very light! viewtopic.php?f=40044&t=12948302
