Get spares to fix it or toss it in the bin

Got hit by the upgrade stick a while back and bought an xt shadow+ rear derailleur as I was in a hurry to get the bike back and going again. Anyway, that aside, I have a rather mangled RD-M785 that I was wondering what to do with.
Should I:
Buy the spare parts to fix it (not sure where from)? to keep for a spare
Flog it on the fleabay for spare parts
Keep it for spare parts
toss it in the bin
It was only 2 months old at the time so has minimal wear apart from the mangled inner and outer plates and a cracked jockey wheel.
any advice gratefully received.

Bin it.
The 2ndhand value of these things is derisory. My shed is full of things like this I should have chucked years ago.0 -

I'd look into getting it fixed, a spare mech will keep you riding if you mangle the other.
Singletrackbikes are good for spares... If cost is prohibitive though strip it for compatible parts, the bolts are handy particularly the hanger bolt assembly (if its compatible) and b adjustment screw, the good jockey wheel is worth holding onto.0 -
Thanks for the replies, Will look into getting it repaired.0
