spoke bracing

Has anyone got/had their spokes braced, if so why and what difference has it made?
I don't know enough to make smart r's remarks about peoples choice of parts 'n' things, yet!

    If running a very light rim it can help stiffen the wheel

    Generally not needed.

    i hadn't heard of it until yesterday.

    It has got me thinking though. I'm close to 100kgs and can't afford a new build wheel so learning about bracing has tweaked my interest a bit.
