Assos IJ Tiburu

I can get an Assos IJ Tiburu jacket for a good price in my size, however, I have no idea how it performs - it is designed for cooler days apparently. Has anybody any experience of these jackets? FWIW I have an evo intermediate and an airjack 851 both of which are superb so a comparator with those would be great.

If you have an intermediate Evo, Don't bother with the Tiburu, it is for more or less the same temperature range.
If you want something to bridge the gap between the Evo and the Airjack, then a Habu jacket would be the one to go for. However, I just use a warm long sleeve compression baselayer with the Evo and it bridges the gap until it's cold enough for the Airjack.
In summary, don't bother.0 -
Thanks Gents for your replies, I have used the intermediate evo with an assos long sleeve early fall base layer comfortably to 0-1C which is actually below the range they stipulate. In cold temperatures circa -5C to 5C I could just use my airjack or intermediate evo with a suitable base layer. The Assos long sleeve early fall base layer is fantastic but not cheap - are there any base layers with a similar performance for less - or cheaper base layers a false economy?0

Yes. Helly Hansen. I run the HH freeze in very cold conditions and the cold in slightly milder conditions. I only ever use HH now.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)
