  • Well clearly Helmets do something, and that thing is threads on the internet.

Armoring ones self against the main risk which is vehicles, is unlikely to be a terribly fruitful policy, better infrastructure, be that "going dutch" or what ever would seem a more fruitful policy.

This said I have bought a helmet and a one that meets more than the normal specs, since well I the bones are still fusing in the skull after the skull fracture and I assume that the skull will be weaken from this.

I'm not going to enter the 'debate' but when I read something like this:
Cycling is a healthy and popular activity for people of all ages. Crashes involving bicyclists are, however, common and often involve motor vehicles

    From: Linked summary

I really have to wonder at the veracity of any argument.
Chunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)

    Wear a helmet.
    No.

There. That's the debate done. You can drag it out for another 100 pages if it takes your fancy, but you have your view and others can have theirs. Next.

    Wear a helmet.
    ....if you want to.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

Reading through the references to the summary, there seems to be a lot of anal risk...

But on a serious note, an interesting read.
