buying advice for a noob

Hiya

im looking to buy my first roadie, ive found the cube peloton and the felt F85 both bikes come with a decent groupset and i like them, but when i went to 2 bike shops both shunned the felt in favour of a spesh secteur, informing me that the ride position is much more forgiving

given ive ridden mainly mtb could the secteur be the way to go even though its more expensive and not as highly specced

any advice before i shell out some cash
