External bearings again ...
So a mere 6 months after fitting a HT2 BB from Trailbright in place of my MegaExo bearings I again find water in the NDS bearing. I have cleaned and re-greased it and its ok but not as smooth as the drive side.
The Trailbright bearings can be replaced but it looks as if they are no longer in business.
The bearings are 6805RS (61805 2RS) bearings (25x37x7mm) and appear to be available from lots of places with a wide variety of prices.
Where is the best place to get them? I ride my bike in all weathers so would like good sealing.

FAG for a tenner or so on Ebay. Are SKF and FAG really any better than the other options for this sort of use? If the swap is pretty easy, you could take a mild gamble and get ten for the price of one......

Make sure you apply some grease to the seals on the dustcap when you reassemble the bottom bracket.- - - - - - - - - -

The seals are tighter, you can feel they have more drag. They have also superior ball roundness and machining tolerances. For these reasons they do last longerleft the forum March 20230
