Anybody out there running a Magura TS8 fork or even any Magura fork?
The initial reviews in the press suggest it is a very good fork but I can't seem to find much info about the long run. The brand seems quite rare over here, I don't think I've seen one out on the trails so looking for some more info and long term reviews on Magura TS8R fork.
Are they reliable? easy to service and fix at home? are parts easily available at reasonable cost? etc ...

no one at all running a Magura fork? I know they aren't too popular here but was hoping for at least a few replies.0

probably more popular in Germany - I'd consider running TS8 R 150 for my bike as its very stiff and light0

I've got a 2008 Magura Menja, the dual arch makes the lowers stiff. Small bump sensitivity is excellent, and it is plush and controlled throughout the travel. I haven't had them serviced and have had no problems with them so I would say reliability is good (they were used weekly for Peak district rides over 3 years).
One thing to note is you don't get compression adjustment, on the menja this wasn't an issue me, I also ran them without having to adjusting the rebound.
As I weight a lot, on the Fox and RS forks I’ve used I run them with less rebound damping, and adjust the compression to firm up the fork, where as the Menja just worked.
The UK service centre http://www.maguraspares.com spares look reasonable prices, but no service price listed on the site.0 -
The son has Durin, about 3 years old, works exactly as it should, they are picky on setup, when first installed it felt poor (no better than his old Manitou Blacks) but after spending a 12 mile ride slowly tweaking the setup it ended up very plush, excellent small bump sensitivity without plunging through travel and with an effective (though not quite as good as my Manitou's) pedal platform.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Thank all for the feedback. If I can get them at the right price then I will go for them.0
