buckled rim

Done this am. The rim just below the tyre is now bent inward for about 10mm. I know the wheel can be straightened but will the buckle degrade the wheel/brake track?

    If it's flattened then it's a wreck, but if the sidewall of the rim is only bent, then it is possible to straighten it again, by using a large adjustable spanner to grab the rim edge. It works for small bends, not so for large sections. Photo would be helpful
